And now a word from the illogical
I got a newsletter from a friend of mine who runs a horse ranch. I have never agreed with her politics, but I have never bothered to argue it with her. She is one of those folks who, when disagreed with, has a head the spins around and spits out the most vile stuff known to mankind.
I find it interesting that there is so much confusion about a two party system of government. We will never be able to break the bonds of the slave holders versus the industrialists, and get to the point of a government of the people by the people and for the people, as long as this confusion exists.
Both parties are the same. They are both made up of men and women who claim that they want what is best for the country, but they have no clue what that is. We only have 2 views of what is right. If a member of the Democrat Party says something that is disagreeable to the rest of the party, they run the risk of being scorned and not re-elected. If a member of the Democrat Republican Party says something that is disagreeable to the rest of the party, they run the risk of being scorned and not re-elected. We have a 2 party system in place with the occasional entry of a third party, let in to validate the “free election” system. Rather makes you wonder when we will have a system based on what is best for our country. Maybe call it an solution based system of government. That would sure be a switch, wouldn’t it.
What set this off was a statement in the newsletter that I got stating “This Republican-caused awful economy has had terrible fall out on animals, particularly dogs and horses.“ I know the economy is horrible for people and for animals, but “Republican-caused” come on folks, this was a team effort. It takes a lot of stretch to blame this on one party, specifically when you recognize the fact that with a 2 party system one had the executive branch, and the other had the legislative branch.
While the Executive branch of government has oversight and recommendation powers, the Legislative branch has the power of enactment.
I hate the two party system that we have in place, there is no opportunity to solve problems. It is so difficult to get someone who is not from the party on the ballot, it discourages free thinkers, you know, the non lemmings. We have “leaders” who can’t make a decision without a focus group, and we have “leaders” with the deepest thought being whether to pick heads or tails on a coin toss.
Our country has developed into an apathetic society. We don’t worry about anything until somebody calls us apathetic. The only time we get angry is when our DVR doesn’t record “American Idol”. It is so true. Those who don’t stand for something, will fall for anything.
I am not willing to blame the Democrats or Republicans for the problems of our country. We have let the government pass laws to protect corporations at the expense of citizens, and we can’t seem to see that the authorization and legalization of greed within corporations has come back to bite us.
