The Super Bowl is tomorrow
The last few years, my son and I have watched the Super Bowl together. It’s not really a big deal since we don’t follow football until maybe the playoffs. This year he is involved with a group at church. He actually wants to go to their meetings every Sunday. He said tonight that the youth group has a Super Bowl party.I asked him what time he needed to go up there and I was stunned by his reply. He told me that he had told them that he wouldn’t be able to go. I asked him why he didn’t want to go to the party. He replied “I want to watch the game with you.”
I don’t know if it is a gift to me, or if he really didn’t want to go. If it was a gift to me, it was one of the best gifts I have ever gotten. It it was because of something else like a conflict between him and someone else, it is still a great gift for me.
I enjoy watching football with my boy. He is fun to talk to, and we love the advertisements. We have seen some of the commercials, and they look like a good crop this year. I don’t know which kind I like better the Budweiser horses, or the crazy stock trading commercials.
Drew is from the Austin area, and I have always had a bunch of respect for Peyton. They both seem like honorable men. Hate to tell you but I really don’t care which one of you guys win. Just make it a good game.
We are going to have a blast watching. Yes we will. My Son and me. I am going to cherish every minute that we can be together. He is 16, and only 2 years before he graduates. Sure there are times when I want to wring his neck, but he is fun to be with, and he is a great kid. I think I will keep him, just as long as I can.
